Leadership and Experience

Amy K. Nowaczyk

Attorney and Owner

O'Drobinak & Nowaczyk, P.C.

Amy Nowaczyk is the owner of O'Drobinak & Nowaczyk, P.C., where she concentrates her practice in estate planning and elder law. Drawing on her background in both psychology and law, Amy brings a distinctive perspective to helping individuals and families navigate the legal, financial, and personal challenges that often accompany aging, incapacity, and long term care planning.

Amy's path to elder law was shaped by both personal and professional experiences. Before attending law school, she earned a Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and developed a deep appreciation for the counseling and problem solving aspects of working with people during significant life transitions. As she worked in her family's law practice, she discovered that she was most fulfilled when helping individuals and families find clarity, direction, and peace of mind during difficult times.

Her commitment to elder law became deeply personal when her grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Like many families, Amy's grandparents were forced to navigate difficult decisions regarding care, finances, and long term planning with limited guidance and few resources available to help them understand their options. Later, Amy's family welcomed her grandfather into their home and helped care for him as his needs increased. Through these experiences, she witnessed firsthand the emotional, practical, and financial challenges families often face when caring for aging loved ones.

These experiences inspired Amy to return to law school and dedicate her career to helping families avoid the uncertainty, stress, and financial hardship her own family encountered. They also shaped her belief that effective planning requires more than legal documents alone. Families need trusted guidance, practical solutions, and compassionate counsel as they navigate some of life's most important decisions.

Amy is committed to delivering comprehensive planning solutions that extend beyond traditional estate planning. She is among a limited number of attorneys in Indiana whose firm utilizes the Life Care Planning model, an innovative approach to elder law that integrates legal counsel, care coordination, and advocacy services.

Amy regularly contributes to the professional development of attorneys throughout Indiana and has served as a faculty member for the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum, presenting on estate planning and elder law topics since 2013.

A lifelong resident of Crown Point, Indiana, Amy lives there with her husband, their four children, and three dogs. She is proud to serve the community she has always called home.
